The ingredient of Greek Style Barbecued Chicken

  • 2 x 1 3kg whole fresh chickens
  • 2 small red onions coarsely grated
  • 2 bunches fresh oregano leaves picked chopped
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated lemon rind
  • 4 garlic cloves crushed
  • 2 long fresh green chillies seeded finely chopped
  • 80ml 1 3 cup olive oil
  • olive oil to grease
  • fresh oregano sprigs optional to serve
